Description
A refreshing, zero-alcohol summer drink that balances the natural sweetness of watermelon with the sharp kick of lime and cooling fresh mint. Ready in just 10 minutes, this vibrant mocktail is hydrating, visually stunning, and perfect for parties.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed (about 600g)
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, packed (about 30g)
- ½ cup fresh lime juice (from 4–5 limes)
- 2–3 tablespoons simple syrup, honey, or agave
- 1 cup soda water (optional)
- Ice cubes (crushed or regular)
- Extra mint sprigs for garnish
- Lime wheels for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon into cubes, removing rind and seeds, until you have 4 cups of fruit. Place in a blender and pulse until smooth. Pour into a large pitcher.
- Place mint leaves in the bottom of the pitcher or a large glass. Add half of the lime juice. Gently muddle or bruise the mint with a muddler or spoon to release oils.
- Add the remaining lime juice and simple syrup to the pitcher. Stir well and taste. Adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
- If using soda water, pour it in gently to preserve carbonation.
- Fill glasses with ice. Pour the mixture over the ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a colder drink without dilution, use frozen watermelon cubes instead of ice. The base mixture (watermelon, mint, lime, syrup) can be made up to 2 days ahead and stored in the fridge; add soda water and ice right before serving. Ensure watermelon is ripe and sweet for best flavor. Do not over-muddle mint as it can become bitter.
