Description
A festive and easy-to-make dessert featuring fudgy brownies cut into football shapes and decorated with peanut butter laces, perfect for Super Bowl or playoff parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (16-18 oz) fudgy brownie mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for batter)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1–2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for drizzle, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare brownie batter according to box instructions, whisking eggs, oil, and water/milk. Fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool brownies in the pan for 30 minutes, then lift out using parchment overhang and cool completely on a rack. Chill in fridge for 20 minutes before cutting.
- Cut cooled brownies into oval football shapes (approx. 12-15 pieces).
- In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1-2 tbsp powdered sugar, and 1 tsp vegetable oil until smooth and thick.
- Transfer peanut butter mixture to a zip-top bag and snip off a small corner.
- Pipe a center line and two curved side lines onto each brownie to resemble football laces.
- Optionally, melt remaining chocolate chips and drizzle over the laces for a glossy finish.
- Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.
Notes
Ensure brownies are completely cool before piping to prevent the peanut butter from melting. Use standard creamy peanut butter rather than natural oil-separated varieties for better piping consistency. Can be made ahead by baking and cutting brownies up to 3 days in advance, storing in the fridge, and piping laces on game day.
