Fun Football Tailgate Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders with Secret Sauce

  • Author: Miranda
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

Kid-friendly, one-pan bacon cheeseburger sliders featuring a tangy secret sauce and Hawaiian sweet rolls, perfect for tailgating or game day gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1215 Hawaiian sweet rolls (approx. 1.2 lbs)
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 810 strips sliced bacon (approx. 12 oz)
  • 12 slices sliced cheddar cheese (approx. 6 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • Pinch of garlic powder (for butter)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally to create a bottom and top layer.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to make the secret sauce.
  4. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, reserving some fat or using oil.
  5. Form ground beef into 12-15 small patties, slightly smaller than the rolls. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook beef patties in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until browned but still slightly pink in the middle. Remove from heat.
  7. Place the bottom layer of rolls into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Spread a thin layer of secret sauce on the bottom rolls.
  9. Place one beef patty on each roll, top with a slice of cheddar cheese, and distribute broken bacon pieces over the cheese.
  10. Place the top layer of rolls over the sliders.
  11. Brush the remaining secret sauce generously over the top of the rolls.
  12. Brush melted butter mixed with a pinch of garlic powder over the top.
  13. Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
  14. Let cool for 2-3 minutes to allow cheese to set, then cut along the seams to serve.

Notes

Do not overcook the beef patties in the skillet as they will finish cooking in the oven. Let sliders rest for 2-3 minutes after baking to prevent them from falling apart. For best results, slice cheese from a block rather than using pre-shredded cheese to ensure a smooth melt.
