  • Author: Miranda
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A budget-friendly, spicy, and cheesy appetizer that wraps jalapenos and cream cheese in flaky biscuit dough. Ready in under 30 minutes, this snack is perfect for game days and parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tube (12 oz / 340 g) refrigerated classic biscuit dough
  • 8 oz (225 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar (7 oz / 200 g drained) sliced jalapenos, patted dry
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Pat the drained jalapeno slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and hot sauce until smooth and spreadable.
  4. Press each biscuit flat and roll out into a 4-inch circle.
  5. Spread 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture onto the center of each dough circle.
  6. Place a dried jalapeno slice on top of the cheese.
  7. Roll the dough around the jalapeno like a burrito, sealing the edges firmly.
  8. Place the wraps seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with the egg wash.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  11. Cool for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure jalapenos are thoroughly dried to prevent soggy dough. Seal edges tightly to prevent cheese leakage. For best texture, serve warm within 30 minutes of baking. Do not freeze unbaked dough as it may become tough.
