Description
A quick, cozy, and velvety hot chocolate made with real pumpkin puree, white chocolate, and warm spices. This 5-minute recipe creates a comforting drink that tastes like pumpkin cheesecake without the effort of baking.
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free)
- ½ cup high-quality white chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons plain, unsweetened pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Extra pumpkin spice (optional, for dusting)
- White chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Pour the milk and pumpkin puree into a small saucepan. Whisk together over medium-low heat until the pumpkin is fully dissolved and the milk is steaming (about 2 minutes). Do not let the milk boil.
- Reduce heat to low. Add the white chocolate chips and a pinch of salt. Stir gently but constantly until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy (about 1 minute).
- Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and pumpkin pie spice.
- Taste and adjust consistency if needed by adding a splash of milk if too thick.
- Pour into a mug. Top with whipped cream, extra pumpkin spice, and/or white chocolate shavings if desired.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
Do not use pumpkin pie filling; use plain unsweetened pumpkin puree. Avoid boiling the milk to prevent scorching or separation. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk and dairy-free white chocolate chips. Can be made in a microwave in 30-second intervals if a stove is not available.
